Job summary

Imerys Denmark invites applications for a dual-role Process Engineer and Continuous Improvement Coordinator. You will drive process optimization, energy efficiency (ISO 50001) and yield improvements across Fur and Mors sites, while empowering teams with CI tools and change management.

The role reports to the Site Manager Denmark and is a core member of the Local Leadership Team, guiding 5S, VSM, and sustainability initiatives with hands-on presence on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in Process, Industrial, Chemical, or Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in mass/energy balances, mineral/chemical processing, and Lean/CI tools (Kaizen, Six Sigma, VSM). Green Belt certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Process Optimization & yield improvement for Kiln and Packaging areas; optimize mass/energy balances and lead industrial trials.
  • Coordinate and sustain the I-Cube OpEx program across Mors and Fur, driving 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and cost-saving projects.
  • Actively promote a safe working culture and lead energy efficiency and emissions reduction programs.
  • Develop SOPs, coach shop-floor teams, and foster a strong culture of continuous improvement.

About the Role

This dual-purpose key position combines process engineering and operational excellence (I-Cube Program). You will be the primary technical authority for process optimization, energy efficiency (ISO 50001 / CO2 reduction), and yield improvement, while simultaneously empowering our workforce through continuous improvement tools, training, and change management.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimization & Yield: Lead technical initiatives for Kiln and Packaging areas; optimize mass/energy balances and lead industrial trials.
  • Continuous Improvement (I-Cube): Coordinate and sustain the I-Cube OpEx program across Mors and Fur, driving 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and cost-saving projects.
  • EHS & Sustainability: Actively promote a safe working culture and lead energy efficiency and emissions reduction programs.
  • Empowerment & Culture: Develop SOPs, coach shop-floor teams, and foster a strong culture of continuous improvement ("Skill and Will").
What We Are Looking For
  • Education: MSc degree in Process, Industrial, Chemical, or Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience: 3+ years in an industrial or manufacturing environment (promising junior candidates with exceptional technical and soft skills will also be considered).
  • Skills: Strong expertise in mass/energy balances, mineral/chemical processing, and Lean/CI tools (Kaizen, Six Sigma, VSM). Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Languages: Fluent professional proficiency in both Danish and English is mandatory.
  • Mindset: A collaborative, hands-on change agent who thrives on the shop floor and leads by inspiring others.
