Job summary

3Shape A/S is seeking an experienced Principal Design System Engineer to lead Lighthouse Design System across web, mobile, and on-prem solutions. You will define technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and design teams to deliver scalable, accessible experiences.

As the first dedicated Design System engineer, you will establish patterns, ownership boundaries, and adoption strategies while balancing pragmatism with ambition to drive global impact for dental software

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with design systems and front-end development.
• Proven ability to influence technical adoption across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Experience with building and maintaining component libraries and design systems.
• Mentoring engineers and fostering engineering culture.
• Collaborates closely with designers and product managers to balance trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Champion continuous improvement of the Lighthouse Design System.
• Enable product teams to adopt and derive value from the system.
• Raise engineering standards across web, mobile, and on-premises.
• Own and evolve the internal component library.
• Partner with Product Portfolio Strategy and Design System UX Lead.
• Mentor engineers while staying hands-on during key initiatives.
