Job summary

The Center for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics (QGG) at Aarhus University invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in plant regulatory genomics and AI. The role focuses on building sequence-to-expression models for plants and includes a 6–12 month stay at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory to join forces across two leading labs in plant genomics and AI.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field and have experience with deep learning, publications, and strong English

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science, bioinformatics, or related field.
• Experience in deep learning and AI methods.
• Publications in international peer-reviewed journals, preferably on AI and genomics.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design sequence-to-expression deep learning models to predict gene expression from DNA in plants.
• Advance AI methods for regulatory genomics within the GRASP project.
• Collaborate with the Koo lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) and spend 6–12 months there.
• Contribute to data science and genomics work on the model plant species Brachypodium distachyon.
