Job summary

Aarhus University invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in plant regulatory genomics and artificial intelligence, starting 1 April 2027, with a 6–12 month research stay at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL).

You will design sequence-to-expression deep learning models to predict gene expression from DNA in plants, using new datasets generated in the project, and work across two leading research environments.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field, or expected by start date.
• Research experience in deep learning.
• Publications in international peer-reviewed journals, preferably on topics related to AI and genomics.
• Experience developing new deep learning techniques (model architectures or learning objectives).

Responsibilities

• Advance AI applied to regulatory genomics in plants using new training sets.
• Design sequence-to-expression deep learning models to predict gene expression from DNA in plants.
• Collaborate with the Koo lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) during the stay.
• Contribute to the GRASP project funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark.
