Job summary

University of Southern Denmark - SDU in Odense invites applications for a Postdoc (100% time) in the Arumugam Group, Department of Clinical Research. The role focuses on microbiome bioinformatics workflows, data integration across multi-omics, and contributing to AMR-related projects.

The successful candidate will expand MIntO workflows, lead projects, and collaborate with international partners while mentoring others.

Qualifications

  • PhD in bioinformatics or biology with strong software development experience.
  • Academic preparation in biological statistics.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R.
  • Experience with bioinformatics workflow environments such as Snakemake, Nextflow or CWL.
  • Experience in analyzing next-generation sequencing datasets.
  • Experience in a UNIX-based HPC environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity for effective teamwork.
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Improve and expand workflows in the MIntO pipeline and develop new workflows.
  • Lead and participate in projects within consortia and initiate new research efforts.
  • Collaborate with clinical researchers, veterinarians, biologists, and bioinformaticians to interpret results.
