The Faculty of Engineering and Science at Aalborg University seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance single-cell genomics and transcriptomics of protists. You will develop lab methods, train in bioinformatics, and collaborate with international partners in the UK and US.

The appointment starts 1 January 2027 (or soon after) for a fixed 3-year term, based at Aalborg’s Center for Microbial Communities, with a strong emphasis on open protocols and scholarly publication.

Qualifications

• PhD in microbiology, biotechnology, or related field (or near completion).
• First-author publications in international journals are expected.
• Experience with molecular lab methods and sequencing is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Lead laboratory technology development for single-cell genomics of protists.
• Improve single-cell lysis and DNA amplification for diverse protist lineages.
• Publish results and share protocols with the community.
