University of Southern Denmark (Syddansk Universitet) invites applications for a three-year Postdoc position in the Research Unit of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Department of Clinical Research. The role focuses on epidemiological research on perimenopause-related mental health, with data from national registers and cohort studies.

You will plan and conduct analyses, contribute to model development and manuscript writing, and collaborate internationally with UK, US and Sweden researchers.

Qualifications

• PhD in epidemiology, health sciences, biostatistics or data science with a health focus.
• At least 1–2 years of research-related experience beyond PhD.
• Strong interest in women’s mental health and reproductive life stages.
• First authorship of several scientific papers with experience in epidemiological research based on register or cohort data.
• Advanced epidemiological and statistical methods experience.
• Proficiency in statistical programming in R or Stata; ability to plan studies and write papers.
• Good collaboration skills and responsibility-taking for joint research projects.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Danish language skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct epidemiological studies using register and cohort data; prepare study protocols and analysis plans.
• Independently perform statistical analyses, interpret results and write scientific papers.
• Identify risk factors for mental disorders during perimenopause and contribute to prediction models.
• Contribute to studies using target trial emulation to investigate hormone therapy and mental health outcomes.
• Coordinate with international collaborators; assist with data access and maintain dataset quality.
• Participate in subprojects and organize project meetings; follow up on joint agreements.
• Teaching and supervision duties may be included depending on interests.
