Job summary

DTU is inviting applications for a Postdoc to contribute to the development, optimization, and integration of large-scale heat pumps for industrial processes and district heating. You will build advanced numerical models, conduct experiments, and perform techno-economic analyses to support decarbonization efforts in Denmark and beyond.

The role involves collaboration with international partners, participation in IEA activities, and supervision of students.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree required or equivalent.
  • Experience with heat pump systems or related energy systems preferred.
  • Strong modelling and experimental skills in engineering research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced numerical models of heat pumps operating with zeotropic mixtures and components.
  • Plan and conduct experimental campaigns with external partners.
  • Validate and refine models using lab-scale experiments and demonstration data.
  • Develop and assess optimized control strategies and system designs for large-scale heat pumps.
  • Perform thermo-economic and integration studies for industrial energy systems and district heating networks.
  • Publish findings in journals and conferences; contribute to proposals and teaching activities.
