Job summary

The University of Copenhagen invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in computational microscopy. The project is hosted by the IMAGE section within the Department of Computer Science and is funded by the Villum Foundation.

Starting 1 March 2027, the successful candidate will work in a collaborative, international environment at DIKU in Copenhagen, contributing to method development, data analysis, and cross-disciplinary research with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science, physics, or related field.
• Strong programming skills and research software development.
• Solid background in numerical methods, optimization, or scientific computing.
• Ability to work independently and across disciplines.
• Willingness to learn basic microscopy and collect data.
• Proficient written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational methods for 3D information extraction from microscopy data.
• Collaborate across disciplines within the IMAGE section and DIKU.
• Validate methods using microscopy data and simulations.
• Publish results in peer-reviewed venues and contribute to open science.
