Job summary

DTU Civil and Mechanical Engineering invites applications for a postdoctoral position within the Lab4DMade project. The role focuses on developing local strain analysis tools for Lab-4DµXRD and applying it to quantify microstructural evolution during mechanical loading of aluminum with second-phase particles.

You will collaborate with DTU Lab4DMade team, Xnovo Technology ApS, and external partners, performing in situ experiments and validating results with synchrotron measurements.

Qualifications

  • PhD required or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Experience with Lab-4DµXRD or similar diffraction imaging is advantageous.
  • Strong background in crystallography and materials science.
  • Excellent communication in English is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software to analyze elastic strain tensors and local plastic strains from Lab-4DµXRD data.
  • Perform in situ Lab-4DµXRD experiments to study microstructural evolution during tensile loading.
  • Conduct synchrotron experiments to validate Lab-4DµXRD results.
  • Implement crystal plasticity finite element models using experimental data.
