Job summary

DTU - Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a PhD scholarship within the BRIGHT Institute focusing on microbial foods and yeast metabolic engineering. The successful candidate will design experiments, analyze data, publish results, and present findings at international conferences, while completing courses worth 30 ECTS and a 3–6 month research stay abroad.

The role includes teaching MSc/BSc courses and supervising students, with collaboration across DTU and BRIGHT partners.

Qualifications

• Two-year master's degree (120 ECTS) in biotechnology, microbiology, biochemical engineering, molecular biology or similar.
• Hands-on experience with metabolic engineering of yeasts.
• Excellent English and strong scientific writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and carry out experiments, analyze data, publish the results and present them at international conferences.
• Participate in courses equivalent to 30 ECTS.
• 3–6 month research stay at a collaborating institute abroad.
• Contribute to teaching MSc/BSc courses and supervise students.
• Collaborate with the Yeast Metabolic Engineering group and BRIGHT Institute.
