Job summary

DTU Compute – Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a PhD scholarship focused on open-source EDA tools. The project aims to generate hardware and build a functional verification framework, promoting open, interoperable and sovereign EDA solutions.

You will research EDA tooling, design hardware generators, and develop verification methods in Scala/Java, with the possibility to co-supervise students and contribute to teaching.

Qualifications

  • Two-year master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Hardware design using a hardware description language (Chisel, VHDL, Verilog).
  • Knowledge of the chip design and verification process.
  • Basic programming skills in Java/Scala.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on EDA tooling.
  • Design hardware generators.
  • Develop a verification method, e.g., functional verification in Scala/Java.
  • Integrate the development into the Chips JU project ODE4EV-PIV.
  • Co-supervise students.
  • Optionally contribute to teaching.
