Job summary

DTU Bioengineering invites applications for a 3-year PhD position funded by SDC. The candidate will work on microbial natural product chemistry, applying omics technologies to characterize bioactive metabolites and develop biofungicides.

The project includes collaboration with UCAS Beijing and a start date in early 2027. We expect a two-year master's degree and strong hands-on experience with LC-MS, NMR, and biosynthesis, plus excellent English and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Two-year master's degree (120 ECTS) or equivalent.
• Experience in microbial natural product chemistry and omics technologies.
• Hands-on experience with LC-MS, MALDI-imaging and NMR is advantageous.
• Interest in international collaborations and strong writing/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Characterize microbial secondary metabolites from different microbes.
• Apply omics technologies to study natural products.
• Collaborate with Prof. Xiujie Wang (UCAS, Beijing) on research projects.
• Develop biofungicides from bioactive compounds.
