DTU - Technical University of Denmark's Enzyme Technology group at DTU Bioengineering invites applications for a 3-year PhD position focusing on enzyme biotechnology for seaweed polysaccharide modifications. The project develops robust S1 sulfatases for new enzyme-based seaweed modifications, as part of NEXTMARINE project.

The role covers discovery to kinetics assessment, in silico docking/dynamics, and collaboration with TUM with potential research stays.

Qualifications

  • Solid foundation in molecular biology related to enzyme production.
  • Experience with enzyme assays and kinetics.
  • Experience with heterologous enzyme expression and purification.
  • Familiarity with protein/DNA construct design and molecular biology tools.
  • Computational skills in enzyme discovery/characterization.

Responsibilities

  • Research from enzyme discovery to function and kinetics assessment.
  • Link experimental work to enzyme function and robustness.
  • In silico work (molecular docking and dynamics) in a team setting.
  • Supervise and teach BSc/MSc students.
