Job summary

BRIGHT is seeking a PhD student to advance dynamic food system modelling within DTU Sustain. You will integrate nutritional functional units into the AESA framework and develop spatially differentiated AESA, accounting for regional differences and temporal dynamics.

The role combines pLCA with AESA to evaluate future food-system sustainability. You will work in a collaborative, international environment, with a focus on innovative modelling approaches and a strong environmental science

Qualifications

Master’s degree (120 ECTS) in environmental engineering, integrated food studies, sustainability assessments, or closely related disciplines.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English; literacy in common IT systems.
Experience in LCA and/or AESA is a plus.
Ability to work in interdisciplinary and multicultural environments.

Responsibilities

Integrate nutritional functional units (nFU) into the AESA framework.
Develop spatially differentiated AESA by regionalizing carrying capacities and life cycle impacts.
Incorporate temporal dynamics into AESA for changing capacities over time.
Combine prospective LCA (pLCA) with AESA to assess future food-system sustainability.
