The University of Copenhagen invites applications for a PhD position in the Gorodkin lab, within the Section for Health Data Science and AI. You will develop predictive computational models of neuronal RNA localization, integrating sequence, structure, and RNA-protein interactions, in a cross-disciplinary setting.

Starting February 1, 2027, the role offers 37 hours weekly, a fixed-term 3-year appointment, and a salary under the Danish state academic pay scale plus pension.

Formación

• MSc in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology, or a related area (two-year Danish MSc equivalence).
• Strong Python experience and Linux/Unix operation.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data analysis, and machine learning theory and practice.
• Familiarity with RNA biology and neuroscience is advantageous.
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong teamwork.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out an independent research project under supervision.
• Complete PhD courses (~30 ECTS).
• Participate in active research environments, including stays at other teams.
• Engage in teaching or dissemination related to the PhD project.
• Write a PhD thesis based on the project.
