Job summary

DTU Lyngby Campus, within the Centre for Absolute Sustainability, offers a PhD position focused on absolute sustainability assessment in food production systems. The successful candidate will develop AESA methods and apply them to case studies with input from DTU Sustain, DTU Food and DTU Construct.

The role includes contributing to teaching activities and is anchored in environmental and resource engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience with life cycle assessment and absolute environmental sustainability assessment.
• Mathematical, environmental, and geospatial modelling skills are an advantage.
• Teaching activity participation is expected.

Responsibilities

• Review studies on absolute environmental sustainability assessments of food production and propose roadmaps for different regions.
• Develop AESA methodology to address methodological gaps and forecast eco-efficiencies and potential rebound effects.
• Apply the methodology to food production cases including novel fermentation and alternative raw materials.
• Develop a national roadmap for Denmark to operate within planetary boundaries.
