Job summary

DTU's Centre for Absolute Sustainability invites applications for a PhD position at the nexus of sustainability, innovation, and the energy transition. The candidate will develop methods to transform energy systems within planetary boundaries while preserving industrial competitiveness.

The project brings together researchers from DTU Construct, Sustain, Energy, Wind, and CfAS, with collaboration across industry and policy contexts.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in engineering or related field.
• Interest in sustainability transitions and practical implementation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience with energy systems modelling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigate how Absolute Sustainability can support energy technology transformation.
• Develop methods translating sustainability goals into actionable targets.
• Collaborate with DTU Construct, Sustain, Energy, and Wind and industry partners.
• Disseminate results via publications and conferences.
• Contribute to teaching, supervision, and student activities.
