Job summary

Capax Recruitment is seeking a freelance DCS Process Automation Engineer for a 12-24 month contract in the pharmaceutical industry. The role is based on-site in Kalundborg, Denmark, focusing on developing, programming, and commissioning automation solutions for large-scale pharma production.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with ABB 800xA systems, 800xA Batch Management, S88, and GMP/GDP knowledge, plus strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of documented experience with 800xA DCS programming.
• Must have 4+ years of documented experience with 800xA Batch Management.
• Solid knowledge of the S88 standard.
• Pharma process knowledge in fermentation, purification, upstream and downstream.
• Background from pharma, chemical, or food & beverage industries with batch production.
• GMP and GDP knowledge.
• Experience in functional specifications, FAT, SAT, UAT, commissioning and validation.
• Strong documentation: protocols, test plans and references.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, commission and hand over DCS applications.
• Work with ABB 800xA, 800xA Batch Management and S88 compliance.
• Collaborate with process experts across MES, Historian, instruments and equipment.
• Support development and optimization of automation methods and strategies.
• Participate in qualification, validation and documentation in GMP environments.
