Job summary

DTU Civil and Mechanical Engineering seeks a motivated Research Assistant to join interdisciplinary activities at the interface of chemistry, materials science, and characterization. This part-time (15 hours/week) position runs for 6 months and offers hands-on experience with polymeric materials, processing, and analytical methods.

The successful candidate will have a master's degree in engineering, hands-on lab experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Solid background in chemistry, materials science, or related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience and comfort with experimental work.
• Interest in materials synthesis, processing, and characterization.
• Ability to work in a structured, careful, and independent manner.
• Motivated, reliable, and able to collaborate in research.
• Good English communication and written scientific reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process material formulations and samples.
• Conduct experimental work on polymeric systems.
• Characterize materials using spectroscopy, microscopy, thermal analysis, rheology, and mechanical testing.
• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data.
• Maintain laboratory workflows and documentation.
• Optimize formulations and experimental procedures.
• Collaborate with team members on day-to-day activities.
