Job summary

Empact in Copenhagen is hiring an Operations & Compliance Manager to own compliance across our international organization. You will help build practical, scalable processes for security, regulatory requirements, and risk.

You’ll work with both the CEO and local HR to implement policies, track obligations, and pursue ISO 27001 certification. Experience in consulting, audit or risk helps you translate complex rules into repeatable workflows.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ experience in consulting, audit, risk, compliance, operations or similar role.
• Some experience with ISO 27001, GDPR or other compliance frameworks.
• Education in business, law, economics, information security or a similar field.
• Some exposure to HR processes, such as employment contracts and onboarding.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle GDPR, export-control screening and customer security questionnaires.

Operations & Compliance Manager, Empact

From advising to owning

Empact builds software that keeps critical defense and aerospace equipment running for customers like Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney, Marshall, and the Danish Armed Forces. We’re a small, tight team in Copenhagen with a larger development team in Romania, and our customers hold us to a high bar on security, data handling and export control.

Today, much of the operational work sits with our CEO alongside running the company: compliance, HR and project follow-up. We’re looking for someone to take ownership of it, bring structure to it, and help us get ISO 27001 certified along the way.

If you’ve spent a few years in consulting, audit or a similar role advising on how things should work, or keeping them running in a busy organisation, this is your chance to own the whole picture and see the results stick.

You won’t do it with spreadsheets and prayers. AI agents will handle much of the routine work: monitoring regulatory changes, tracking contract obligations and deadlines, and flagging issues early. That’s what makes it realistic for one person to cover several areas well. You bring the judgment and the follow-through; the agents bring the tireless first pass.

Compliance (group-wide)

• Drive Empact’s work toward ISO 27001 certification, building on our existing CMMC Level 1 compliance, and maintain it afterwards.
• Own policies, documentation, risk assessments and audit preparation across all group entities.
• Handle GDPR, export-control screening of partners and customers, and customer security questionnaires.

HR operations

• Employment contracts, onboarding and offboarding, and the employee handbook.
• Coordinate group-wide HR policies with our local HR colleagues in Romania.

Projects, bids and contracts

• Track customer projects, milestones and deliverables, and keep the CEO and project teams aligned on status.
• Coordinate with our development team in Romania on project plans, delivery dates and customer documentation.
• Monitor relevant tenders and prepare bid documentation, including the compliance and security sections.
• Keep track of customer contracts, obligations, renewals and SLA commitments, so nothing slips.
• Prepare material and follow-ups for customer meetings and industry events.

You’ll work directly with the CEO, who keeps final decisions and sign-off. You own the preparation, execution and follow-up.

What we’re looking for

You have 2–4 years of experience from consulting, audit, risk, compliance, operations or a similar role, whether in an advisory firm or in-house. You get up to speed quickly, work in a structured way, and are comfortable handling several areas at once. Now you want broader ownership and to see your work make a lasting difference.

We’d especially value:

• Experience within compliance, risk, audit, information security or operations, from consulting or a similar role
• Some experience with ISO 27001, GDPR or other compliance frameworks
• An education in business, law, economics, information security or a similar field
• Some exposure to HR processes, such as employment contracts and onboarding
• The ability to translate requirements into practical processes people can follow
• Strong attention to detail, combined with the judgment to know what needs action
• An interest in using AI and automation to work smarter

Experience from defense, aerospace, software or another regulated industry is a plus but not a requirement. You don’t need to be an AI specialist or developer, just comfortable learning new tools.
