Job summary

DTU, in collaboration with the Center for Visualizing Catalytic Processes (VISION) at DTU Physics, invites applications for a postdoctoral position to study catalytic materials using operando, atomic-resolution TEM. You will work in an international team leveraging advanced microscopy, microreactors, and computational modeling to reveal atomic-scale mechanisms of catalysis.

The role requires a PhD in physics, chemistry, or materials science, with strong TEM skills and experience in one or more

Qualifications

  • PhD in physics, chemistry or materials science with research excellence.
  • Documented skills in atomic-resolution transmission electron microscopy.
  • Experience in microfabricated devices, 2D materials, catalysis and/or surface science.
  • Strong programming skills, especially Python, for data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform operando, low-dose-rate TEM to observe catalytic dynamics in real time.
  • Develop and apply Python-based image and data analysis for time-resolved TEM.
  • Fabricate and utilize microfabricated reactors under realistic conditions.
  • Visualize and interpret nanoparticle restructuring and surface dynamics.
  • Collaborate with computation researchers on atomic-scale mechanisms and kinetics.
  • Publish results in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
