Job summary

Vattenfall GmbH is seeking a Wind Farm System Designer to transform complex technical and economic information into actionable insights for offshore wind projects. You will work with interdisciplinary teams to perform techno-economic assessments and create value across investments in Europe.

You will develop wind farm designs, balance energy production with cost and feasibility, and push efficiency through data-driven analyses and neutral reference cases to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or other relevant field.
• Experience in technical, innovation-driven or cost-engineering environments.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to translate complex information into business insights.
• Interest in renewable energy and energy transition; offshore wind or related industry is beneficial.
• Interest in Python and applying AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and support decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Perform techno-economic assessments to evaluate offshore wind farm concepts and quantify key value drivers.
• Develop offshore wind farm designs balancing energy production, cost, feasibility, and environmental constraints.
• Drive levelised energy cost and value improvements by challenging assumptions and exploring innovations.
• Translate complex technical/economic information into clear recommendations for executives.
• Build data-driven analyses and automation using Python and analytics platforms to improve decisions.
• Develop neutral reference cases to evaluate future technologies for informed stakeholder decisions.
