Job summary

Lunar is seeking an Android engineer who loves building beautiful, intuitive UI. You’ll own features from idea to production in a modern Kotlin stack with Jetpack Compose, collaborating with iOS, Backend, Web, Product, Design, and Data teams.

You’ll ship in a cross-functional environment, iterating quickly and embracing AI-enabled coding practices within Lunar's in-house design system. On-site collaboration and cross-language UI work are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience building Android apps with a focus on UI quality.
• Solid fundamentals in Kotlin and modern Jetpack Compose.
• Experience or eagerness to learn Jetpack Compose over Views.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features in a Jetpack Compose app from first commit to production.
• Craft UI with Design in Lunar's Matter design system across Nordic languages.

What will you do?

• Build and ship features in a Jetpack Compose app, owning them from the first commit to production and beyond. At Lunar, you build it and run it
• Craft UI that people actually love to use, working pixel-close with Design in our in-house "Matter" design system — 30+ Compose component families localized across five Nordic languages
• Work in a modern Kotlin stack every day: Coroutines & Flow, Hilt, Room, Retrofit, and a clean UI → ViewModel → Repository architecture across a ~130-module codebase
• Work daily alongside iOS, Backend, and Web engineers, as well as Product, Design, and Data. Cross-functional is how we work
• Move fast and iterate. We learn quickly from what doesn't work and don't let perfection slow down progress
• Work in a team that takes AI seriously as part of how we write and ship code. You'll have the tools, the culture, and the mandate to explore what that means in practice

What are we looking for in you?

• A genuine passion for Android and for building beautiful, intuitive UI. This role is about craft as much as code
• Some Android engineering experience — you don't need to be a senior. If you're hungry, curious, and building things, we want to talk
• Solid Kotlin fundamentals, and experience with (or strong eagerness to learn) Jetpack Compose. If you've been building with Views and want to go all-in on Compose, we'll help you get there.
• A collaborative mindset. You ask good questions early, communicate clearly, and make the people around you better
• A drive to grow and take ownership. You follow through on your work, take feedback well, and actively look for ways to improve your craft
