Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking an experienced MEP Coordinator to bridge design, installation and commissioning across all Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health systems on site.

You will ensure design intent is translated into compliant installation, delivered safely and on schedule, coordinating with CSA, mechanical, electrical and commissioning teams. This flagship European data centre project offers progression and exposure to high-spec environments.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a MEP Coordination or MEP Engineering role on major construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in critical or high-spec environments.
  • Experience with QA/QC processes, commissioning, and construction standards.
  • Ability to interpret and coordinate technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication with trades, supervisors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Well-organised, able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee mechanical and electrical installation activities across multiple work packages.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure buildability and compliance.
  • Manage RFIs (Requests for Information) and design queries, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support QA/QC teams to ensure installations meet project and industry standards.
  • Coordinate closely with CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, and Commissioning teams.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and technical risks, identifying issues early and driving resolutions.
  • Facilitate effective communication between design teams, subcontractors, and site operations.
  • Proactively identify and resolve coordination challenges before they impact programme or quality.

Role Overview

As an MEP Coordinator, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between design, installation, and commissioning across all Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) systems on site. You will ensure that design intent is effectively translated into high-quality, compliant installation, delivered safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee mechanical and electrical installation activities across multiple work packages
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure buildability, compliance, and coordination
  • Manage and track RFIs (Requests for Information) and design queries, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with site execution
  • Support QA/QC teams to ensure installations meet project and industry standards
  • Coordinate closely with CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, and Commissioning teams
  • Monitor progress, quality, and technical risks, identifying issues early and driving resolutions
  • Facilitate effective communication between design teams, subcontractors, and site operations
  • Proactively identify and resolve coordination challenges before they impact programme or quality
Requirements

Candidates should have strong experience working on large-scale, technically complex projects such as data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, industrial, or semiconductor builds.

Essential Experience
  • Proven experience in an MEP Coordination or MEP Engineering role on major construction projects
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in critical or high-spec environments
  • Experience with QA/QC processes, commissioning, and construction standards
  • Ability to interpret and coordinate technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with trades, supervisors, and senior stakeholders
  • Well-organised and capable of working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
