Job description

Mechanical Design Engineer - for marine engine design

At Everllence in Copenhagen, we design and develop two-stroke marine diesel engines that power around 75% of the world’s seaborne trade. Our engines are built by licensees in Asia based on our designs and technical support.

Today, we are at the forefront of the green transition, moving away from fossil fuels and toward sustainable alternatives like ammonia and green methanol – fuels that can be produced using Power-to-X technologies. Join us and be part of a global effort to decarbonize shipping.

You will play an important role in:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Moving Parts and Engine Structure team, you will work with engineering, design, and CAD modelling of key engine components such as crankshafts, connecting rods, crossheads, chain drives, bedplates, frame boxes, bearings, and bolts.

Many of the concept designs for these components are developed by our R&D department. Your main responsibility is to bring the components from concept to the finished product which can be handed over to the engine builders. You will work closely with our R&D department as well as with the engine builders to ensure a production friendly, serviceable and robust design.

The design work takes place in cross-functional teams with a wide range of competences. The primary design tools are CAD (Siemens NX) and in house calculation programs.

Depending on the your qualifications and interests you will have the opportunity to work with other tasks like trouble shooting, stress analysis (FEM), programming of tools, improving the CAD modelling work flow or project management on top of your main tasks as design engineer.

Occasional travels to our partners in Japan, Korea and China (maybe 10 days every other year) must be expected.

We imagine that you:

You have a relevant degree in mechanical engineering or similar higher education and an interest in working with mechanical design. Relevant work experience is an advantage.

Welcome to Moving Parts and Engine Structure

The Moving Parts and Engine Structure team is part of the Two Stroke Engine Design Department. You will be part of a team of 12 designers with a broad variety of backgrounds.

We have an open culture; we thrive on challenges and support each other in an environment where we take united responsibility for our designs long after they have left the drawing board and entered service. In discussions, the ceiling is high and ideas can be lifted and analyzed together in a positive and constructive atmosphere.
