Everllence is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Material Technology team in Copenhagen. You will prepare samples, conduct metallurgical analyses, maintain cutting machines and metallography equipment, and support engineers with reliable results to help optimize engine materials.
You should have a laboratory technician education or similar technical training, practical mechanical skills, and good English communication.
Internal combustion engines for marine applications are challenged by the complexity of running on dual fuels. Sometimes components fail, and it is essential to know WHY they failed. This is a job for our team of “metals detectives” who know how to perform a thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA). The team relies on a laboratory technician to prepare high-quality samples and ensure reliable laboratory analyses.

Supporting the team and internal stakeholders and maintaining the laboratory so that important examinations can be carried out to help identify the right solutions for the present and future engines. You will work closely with an experienced colleague to form the foundation for all the work being done in the team. This will support the engineers and specialists in their work as metal detectives. Moreover, many R&D and Engineering departments within Everllence rely on the support from the Material Technology Department.

You will join a team of 11 colleagues based at Everllence's Danish head office in the South Harbor of Copenhagen. The team brings together people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, forming a strong and flexible unit. We like to keep an open tone and follow the company language which is English. We are a support function responsible for development of new material solutions for our engines. We collaborate across the organization with other R&D teams, Engineering Design teams and Engine Support teams regarding material selection, failure analysis and vendor approval.
We need to strengthen this support function to ensure that our engines continue to run reliable in the future and to reach our goals for decarbonization.
You will be working in a team having a modern metallurgical laboratory with cutting machines, metallography equipment, mechanical testing machines and advanced equipment like light optical and scanning electron microscopes, micro hardness testers, 3D profilometers and optical emission spectrometer. The lab is constantly adapted to the tasks to be solved and new laboratory equipment is acquired when needed. All the equipment need proper maintenance to ensure its functionality.
