Bavarian Nordic in Denmark is seeking a Manager to head the Drug Product Development and Analysis Team in Hørsholm. You will lead three Scientists and three Technicians, oversee drug product formulation development and data interpretation.

The role combines hands-on review of analytical results with team leadership, driving assay development and ensuring high-quality data. Collaboration with Production, Quality Control, and R&D is essential. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• MS in Biotechnology or related field (minimum)
• PhD in protein chemistry or related topic preferred
• 3–5 years of biotech industry or academia experience
• Experience with pharmaceutical analyses: chromatographic, particle, and protein methods
• Experience with formulation development, statistical data analysis, and protein chemistry
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required

The Department handles diverse and evolving tasks and includes 32 members across 4 specialized teams. We are looking for a manager to head our Drug Product Development and Analysis Team, consisting of three Scientists and three Technicians reporting to the Head of Process Development. The team focuses on drug product process and formulation development, stability studies, and analyzing development samples for ongoing programs. Apart from managing the team an important part of the role will be hands‑on to review analytical results, maintain the analytical methods and drive the execution of the analytical tasks in the team. Your Impact

You must have a strong interest in consistently delivering high‑quality analytical data and to support the department’s development studies. Given the function of the team, there will be close interaction with all the teams in the department.

• Your tasks will include: Driving the daily operation of the team, setting the scientific direction, and ensuring the development of the team members
• Ensuring established analysis assays run smoothly and deliver high‑quality data on time, while supporting the team in developing new assays to advance the department
• Communicating daily with the team and collaborating closely with Production, Quality Control, and R&D

Are You Our Next Pioneer?

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

• M.S. in Biotechnology, Human Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field, preferably with a PhD in protein chemistry or a related topic
• 3-5 years of relevant experience from the biotech industry or academia
• Previous experience with pharmaceutical analyses, e.g. chromatographic methods, particle methods and protein methods
• Previous experience with formulation development, statistical data analysis, and an understanding of protein chemistry
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required
