Job summary

Copenhagen Energy Trading is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to move models from research to production, building robust, scalable pipelines that power trading strategies across Europe and North America. You will own the full lifecycle of models, from data management to deployment, monitoring, and adaptation as markets evolve.

This hands-on role sits at the center of CET's ML-enabled trading environment in Copenhagen, collaborating with researchers, software engineers, and traders to deliver

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills and production-ready software development.
• MLOps and development practices: Git, code reviews, CI/CD, experiment tracking, deployment, monitoring.
• Cloud computing with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Problem-solving and communication with cross-disciplinary teams; English proficiency required.
• Ownership and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in energy markets; knowledge of power trading is a plus.
• Education: technical degree in CS/SE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen our ML framework: build and improve the framework used by researchers to create models and strategies.
• Build production-ready software: design and develop reliable, scalable Python software integrated into trading platforms.
• Develop data infrastructure: build and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, transforming and serving market and fundamental data.
• Ship and operate models: deploy, monitor, and manage models in production, with experiment tracking.
• Improve ML and engineering practices: enhance MLOps, testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and the model lifecycle.
• Shape our technical solutions: evaluate and introduce tools/tech to improve development, deployment and operation of ML solutions.
• Collaborate across disciplines: work with researchers, traders, and software engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Build energy-market expertise: develop deep understanding of power markets and ML-driven trading.
