Job summary

Avanta Works in Horsens is seeking a highly organized Librarian Supervisor to manage daily library operations, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality services to patrons.

The ideal candidate holds a Library Science degree (Masters preferred), has at least three years of supervisory library experience, and strong knowledge of library systems and technologies. Fluency in English is essential. This full-time role includes accommodation assistance for international candidates and visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field; Masters preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of library experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of library systems, resources and technologies.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
• Customer service-oriented with ability to serve a diverse community.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train library staff including scheduling and performance management.
• Oversee collection development including selection, acquisition and weeding of materials.
• Develop and maintain library policies and procedures.
• Plan and implement programs and events for all ages.
• Provide reference services to patrons and assist with research inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of library transactions and statistics.
• Collaborate with community organizations to promote library services.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technologies and best practices.
