Job summary

DIS - Study Abroad in Copenhagen seeks 1 external faculty to teach or co-teach Muscles in Motion: Exercise Science for North American undergraduate students studying in Copenhagen. The role begins for the fall semester, with teaching possible Mondays and Thursdays, 8:30–09:50, including two academic tours.

The candidate should have strong English, a background in relevant sciences (cand.scient/humanbiolog/cand.med), and experience or interest in experiential learning and assessment.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has experience on some of the course topics and is well-versed in the field both academically and practically.
• Excellent academic English and willingness to engage academically with the students.
• Openness to pedagogical support from DIS and ability to translate interactive teaching into practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate teaching and experiential learning activities
• Develop course content with support from academic staff
• Evaluate, grade, and provide feedback on students’ work throughout the semester
• Total course load is 18 lectures (80 minutes each) and 2 field studies per semester
• Lead student Field Studies in Stockholm and the UK with DIS tour leaders
