FUJIFILM Biotechnologies Denmark is seeking a laboratory technician/analyst for a broad QC Chemistry role at our Hillerød site. You will perform routine and non-routine testing across several analytical methods, learn new techniques, and contribute to method transfers and validations within a collaborative team.
We value responsibility, careful documentation, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
A broad analytical role in QC Chemistry. We are looking for a laboratory technician / analyst who enjoys variety. You will work across several analytical methods, products and practical laboratory tasks rather than specialise in only one technique. You do not need experience with every method we use. What matters is that you take responsibility for your work, learn new methods, ask for help when needed and contribute wherever the laboratory has the greatest need.
About FUJIFILM Biotechnologies and Quality Control. FUJIFILM Biotechnologies is a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO). At our Hillerød site, we support customers from early development through commercial GMP production. Quality Control (QC) in Hillerød includes around 300 colleagues in testing and support teams. We work across teams to solve problems, meet shared priorities and improve how the laboratory operates. The organisation is relatively flat, so ideas and decisions stay close to the work.
About the QC Chemistry Department. QC Chemistry consists of 40+ colleagues across three teams (analysts, scientists, students and leaders). We support global release of commercial DS/DP using compendial and platform methods (e.g., CESDS, IcIEF, SDS-PAGE, HPLC/UPLC, appearance, pH, osmolality, SoloVPE/UV). We also handle TOC changeover/cleaning validation and testing of utility gases and water. With site expansion and a new Fill & Finish facility, method transfers, validations and qualifications are growing. We qualify controls and reference standards and manage deviations, CAPAs, invalid assays, OOS and Change Controls to keep products moving safely to patients.
What the working day is like: Around 50% of the role is routine testing. Assignments and methods may change from day to day, and priorities can shift at short notice when samples, instruments or production needs require it. You will belong to one QC Chemistry team and plan your own day in close coordination with your colleagues. Qualification in a new method can take from a few days to several weeks, depending on the method and your previous experience.
Perform routine and non‑routine testing across several analytical methods. Move between product testing, stability samples, method activities and practical laboratory tasks. Learn additional methods over time instead of working permanently within one analytical area.
Investigate unexpected results and instrument or method issues together with colleagues. Help keep the laboratory running through documentation, reagent qualification, instrument follow‑up and other shared tasks. Support method transfers, qualifications and validations when relevant.
Being proactive in this role means planning and following up on your own tasks, speaking up early when a result, instrument or deadline is at risk, and involving the right colleagues to find a solution. When priorities change, you adjust your plan and coordinate with the team. You are willing to learn new methods, take on different types of analysis and help with shared laboratory tasks when needed.
Trained Laboratory Technician or another relevant laboratory‑based qualification.
At least 5 years of hands‑on laboratory experience is required. Experience from pharmaceutical production, quality control or another regulated environment is an advantage, but we will provide training in our specific methods and systems.
Hands‑on experience with one or more analytical techniques, such as chromatography, electrophoresis, spectroscopy or general physicochemical testing. Experience with HPLC/UPLC, CE‑SDS, IcIEF, CESDS, SDS‑PAGE, pH, osmolality or SoloVPE/UV is useful, but you are not expected to know all our methods when you join.
You work carefully and methodically, document your work clearly and can interpret results and basic statistical data. You are comfortable using electronic laboratory systems such as LIMS or Empower, or able to learn them. You give concise updates, raise concerns early and suggest practical next steps.
You can read, write and communicate clearly in English in a regulated laboratory setting. Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
A role in a growing company with room for responsibility, learning and development. You will join a helpful team with strong technical expertise and a good sense of humour.
As a general rule, we work on site because the role is laboratory‑based. You plan your own day, and when your tasks consist of SOP reading or other computer‑based work that can be done remotely, working from home can be agreed with your manager.
