Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to Novo Nordisk bioethical guidelines and advise on the 3Rs and welfare standards.
• Support and develop the digital maturity of the animal facilities.
• Contribute to training of staff on protocols, regulations, 3Rs, and welfare standards.
• Participate in a shared on‑call rotation with other veterinarians.

Your new role

As a Laboratory Animal Veterinarian, you will be an integral part of the veterinary team, contributing to both animal welfare and scientific excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Providing specialized veterinary medical and clinical care to laboratory animals.
• Overseeing animal health in the facilities and ensuring that animals are fit for scientific studies.
• Conducting animal welfare audits of contract research organisations and other collaborators worldwide.
• Supporting research activities, including study design, model development, substance administration, surgery, and other veterinary procedures.
• Advising on anesthesia, analgesia, pain management, sampling, post‑operative care, and autopsies.
• Providing guidance on project‑related protocols involving experimental work and relevant regulations and guidelines within Laboratory Animal Science.
• Ensuring adherence to Novo Nordisk bioethical guidelines and advising on the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) and state‑of‑the‑art animal welfare standards.
• Supporting and developing the digital maturity of the animal facilities.
• Contributing to formal and informal training of staff working with animals and advising on protocols, regulations, the 3Rs, and animal welfare standards.
• Participating in a shared on‑call rotation together with other laboratory veterinarians.

The role may involve some travel, particularly in connection with animal welfare audits and collaboration with external partners.

Your new department

You will join an enthusiastic and experienced veterinary team that supports researchers, laboratory technicians, and animal technicians with expert veterinary advice and assistance. The team is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare while enabling successful biomedical research. The workplace spans two sites – Ganløse and Måløv.

Your Skills And Qualifications

• Danish authorization as a veterinarian.
• Completed Danish Course in Laboratory Animal Science (EU Function AD, formerly FELASA B).
• Experience in laboratory animal science or postgraduate research within biomedical science. Recent graduates will also be considered.
• Strong digital capabilities and experience using digital tools and systems to improve processes are considered an advantage.
• Experience conducting animal welfare audits of contract research organisations or other external partners is considered an advantage.
• Experience in drug discovery and development is considered an advantage. You also have strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently.
• High motivation and initiative, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with varied tasks.

A genuine passion for animal welfare and a hands‑on approach to veterinary work are essential.

Salary:

For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 651,000.00 to 956,900.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
