We are looking for a student worker to join one of our Research and Development teams. Our R&D organization spans several of Terma's domains, where we develop advanced software that contributes to keeping people safe.
As a Student Worker in the Research & Development Department, you will gain hands‑on experience by working on a variety of tasks, allowing you to put your theoretical knowledge into practice. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of Java‑based backend systems as part of an experienced development team. You will collaborate closely with skilled engineers and take part in the team’s day‑to‑day work, including implementing and refining backend components, writing units, components, and integration tests, and helping identify and resolve issues as well as improve system performance.
You will take part in code reviews and technical discussions, gaining insight into architectural decisions and structured development practices. Additionally, you will contribute to documentation and help maintain a high standard of code quality within a professional development environment.
You will be part of a professional team that values collaboration, open communication, and mutual support. In this environment, you will gain hands‑on experience with tools and technologies such as Git, Linux, Docker, Jenkins, and modern Java frameworks, while developing an understanding of how robust and maintainable systems are built in practice.
