Job summary

Ramboll, a global engineering consultancy, invites applications for a Junior Power Systems Engineer in Esbjerg, Denmark. You will join the Power Systems department to design electrical systems for diverse projects, including datacenters and renewable energy facilities, and support FEED, detailed engineering and site handover.

You will work with a team to deliver robust electrical solutions, perform calculations, engage with clients, and contribute to sustainable energy infrastructure in Denmark.

Qualifications

• Finalizing your B.Sc./B.Eng. Electrical Engineering, M.Sc. Electrical Engineering or similar or newly graduated.
• Curious and the ambition to develop your professional skills further.
• Strong oral and written skills in Danish and English.
• Motivated to work on the green transition and contribute to high-quality solutions for complex energy infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and engineering of HV, MV and LV electrical systems with standards and client requirements.
• Prepare and review technical specs and design docs for transformers, switchgear, cables, earthing and lightning protection.
• Provide input to project teams and support procurement processes including supplier dialogue and tenders.
• Contribute to concept, feasibility and FEED phases with technical solutions and recommendations.
• Perform electrical calculations and studies like load flow, short-circuit and grid connection assessments.

Your new role
As a newly graduated Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering projects
concerning Power Systems, Grid Connections and Electrical Engineering to a wide variety of areas
including Datacenters, BESS & Solar PV, industrial plants, Power-to-X, Power Plants etc.

We are a department responsible for developing the Danish market within Power Systems & Electrical
Engineering and cover all aspects of projects including early concept and feasibility studies, FEED
studies, detailed engineering and follow-on engineering on projects in Denmark.
Your key responsibilities will be:

• Participate in the design and engineering of HV, MV and LV electrical systems, ensuringsolutions are developed in accordance with relevant standards, grid codes, client requirements and project-specific technical interfaces
• Prepare and review technical specifications and design documentation for key electrical equipment such as power transformers, switchgear, cables, earthing systems and lightning protection systems
• Provide technical input to project teams and support procurement processes, including supplier dialogue, tender evaluation, technical clarifications and follow-up during project execution
• Contribute to concept studies, feasibility studies and FEED phases by developing technical solutions, comparing alternatives and supporting project teams with clear engineering recommendations
• Perform and coordinate electrical calculations and studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination and grid connection assessments, depending on project needs and level of experience
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across disciplines and geographies to ensure that electrical solutions are integrated effectively into multidisciplinary energy and infrastructure projects
• Support dialogue with clients, grid companies and authorities by preparing technical input, responding to comments and helping translate project requirements into robust engineering deliverables
• Participate in factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing, supporting quality assurance and helping ensure that delivered systems meet the agreed technical requirements before handover
