The Novo Nordisk Foundation invites motivated Bachelor’s or Master’s students to join its Global Health team for a spring 2027 internship. This full-time, on-site role runs up to five months and offers hands-on experience in project design, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring and evaluation within a leading philanthropic foundation.

Job description

Are you a Bachelor’s or Master’s student enrolled at a university in Denmark, passionate about international partnerships and global health? The Global Health team at the Novo Nordisk Foundation is looking for a motivated intern to take on a full-time internship during the spring semester 2027 (up to five months). This is a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with global health at one of the world’s largest philanthropic organisations, and to sharpen your skills in project design and development, stakeholder engagement, research and monitoring and evaluation, and advocacy.

The position

The Global and Public Health department is situated within the Health Area of the Novo Nordisk Foundation. We focus on establishing high-impact initiatives with an overall strategic ambition to reduce the burden of cardiometabolic disease and increase healthy life span, mainly in East Africa and India. Our team drives initiatives in integrated care approaches, health workforce development, and implementation research, with AI in health being an excited emerging cross‑cutting priority. We establish trusted partnerships with global health institutions and local partners and work closely with our two regional offices in Nairobi and Delhi. Our team is small in size, but large in personality, combining an informal, supportive atmosphere with a strong drive to deliver results on the agenda we work with.

As an intern, you will help drive project design, development and communication of our strategic initiatives, while working as an integral part of the global health team. You will be assigned to specific projects to ensure continuity and progression in your assignment, taking on gradually increasing responsibility and ownership. You will work under supervision of project manager, Stine Vest Nielsen, and work closely with the Global Health team and collaborate with colleagues across the Health Area and our international offices.

Your specific tasks and responsibilities will be scoped according to your academic background, capabilities, and interests within the following areas of work:

• Provide project management support in shaping specific global health initiatives under development, applying process and stakeholder management skills
• Conduct landscape analyses, literature reviews and other research activities to inform current and upcoming initiatives and partnerships around AI in health and cardiometabolic disease integration
• Deliver briefing materials, presentations, and other written material for NNF’s leadership and external stakeholders
• Track the progress of existing initiatives and supporting programmatic mid‑term reviews by contributing to monitoring, evaluation and analysis activities
• Help drive our global health advocacy ambitions, including preparing strategic participation at relevant forums and managing impactful communication of our initiatives

The working hours will be 37 hours a week with flexibility in relation to your other obligations as a student.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with some or all these qualities:

• Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters programme at a Danish university within a relevant field, for example political science, health sciences, business management and innovation, development studies, international relations, technology studies. Graduated students will not be considered.
• Experience working, volunteering or studying in low- and middle-income country contexts and insights into major global development and health agendas
• Specific skills in AI in health, research management, and process monitoring are considered a strong advantage
• Strong communication skills with experience in producing communication products for various media
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, and an experienced user of AI tools such as Claude or Copilot and experience with data analysis tools
• Proficiency in English (written and oral). Danish language skills are not a requirement
