Job summary

Ascendis Pharma A/S is seeking a passionate in vivo pharmacologist to design, execute and report in vivo pharmacology studies with external CROs. You will join a multidisciplinary Biology & Pharmacology team, reporting to the Head of Biology & Pharmacology in Hellerup.

You will design and monitor studies, select appropriate models, ensure rigorous scientific standards and animal welfare, and coordinate CRO interactions to advance translational programs.

Qualifications

• PhD in Pharmacology or related life science field.
• 1–5+ years in vivo pharmacology experience.
• Strong understanding of disease models, PK/PD, translational pharmacology and preclinical drug development.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design, monitor and report in vivo and in vitro studies at external CROs to support early nonclinical development.
• Select and optimize animal models to address project questions.

We are seeking

a passionate in vivo pharmacologist to join our growing team. As a key member of the Biology & Pharmacology team, you will play a crucial role in designing, executing and reporting in vivo pharmacology studies conducted at external CROs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to achieve extraordinary results.

You will be joining the Biology & Pharmacology team consisting of 6 colleagues, and report to Head of Biology & Pharmacology who is based in Hellerup. You will likewise be based in Hellerup.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Design, and monitor the execution and reporting of different types of in vivo and in vitro studies conducted at external CROs to support early nonclinical drug development
• Select and optimize appropriate animal models to address project-specific scientific questions
• Ensure that studies are conducted with scientific rigor and in compliance with our high animal welfare standards
• Select, interact with and manage CROs

Qualifications and Skills:

You hold a relevant academic degree, preferably a PhD in Pharmacology, Biology, Veterinary Science, Biomedical Sciences, Physiology, or a related life science discipline. You have 1 - 5+ years of hands-on experience in in vivo pharmacology gained within academia, CROs, or the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Furthermore, you possess a solid understanding of disease models, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) principles, translational pharmacology, and the preclinical drug development process.

Furthermore, you have:

• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Experience with data analysis and interpretation using relevant software
