Job summary

emagine is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to lead the modernization of digital research applications and design integrated solutions across commercial and in-house systems. You will own end-to-end architecture for cloud-native platforms, AI data flows, and research IT services in a pharmaceutical setting.

Qualifications

• Strong software architecture and solution design experience within pharmaceutical research IT.
• Experience with research data management and scientific digital solutions.
• Knowledge of applications and architectures supporting automated, high-throughput screening environments.
• Technical experience with at least one object-oriented programming language; .NET/C# and Python are preferred.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and event-driven architectures, including Apache Kafka/event streaming.
• Experience with containerisation and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design.
• Knowledge of FAIR principles for research data.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for digital research applications, integrations, cloud-native platforms, AI and data flows.
• Design how commercial software and internally developed applications integrate into the existing research IT landscape.
• Evaluate commercial software solutions and assess integration requirements and implementation effort.
• Define architecture options, ADRs, reference architectures and phased modernisation roadmaps.
• Work closely with software and data architects, engineers, product owners and application experts on architecture and technical decisions.
• Ensure architecture aligns with enterprise standards, IT security policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support the design and implementation of PoCs, research applications and integrations when needed.
