Job summary

TORM Copenhagen is seeking an HSE Manager to join our experienced team, working closely with stakeholders across vessels in Copenhagen and Mumbai. You will monitor marine operations, provide nautical, safety and environmental support, and uphold high HSE standards.

The role reports to the HSE Team Leader in Mumbai and requires strong leadership, ISM/OCIMF knowledge, and fluent English. We offer a competitive salary, bonus, pension and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years sailing experience as marine officer (Captain/Chief Officer preferred).
• Shore-based Marine/HSE experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of ISM, ISO standards and OCIMF requirements.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Your Role

You will enjoy being part of an experienced team based in Copenhagen and in Mumbai and together you will be responsible for monitoring and facilitating marine operations of designated vessels, and provide the required nautical, safety and environmental support, to the desired levels of safe performance.

This position will be reporting to the HSE Team Leader, who is based in Mumbai.

Key responsibilities

• To be an ambassador for the TORM Safety Culture and provide support & guidance to our colleagues on board our vessels
• To ensure onboard implementation of the Company's Safety Management System and thereby ensure overall safety, environmental and quality assurance of your allocated vessels
• To liaise with external parties e.g. Classification Societies and Flag States as and when required
• Handling incident investigation and report submission
• Support implementation of the performance leadership program on assigned vessels by coordinating follow-up activities and promoting safe operational practices
• Deliver in-house training on HSE procedures, safety standards, and company requirements to relevant colleagues
• Conduct vessel visits as required to support onboard HSE implementation, provide guidance, and follow up on safety performance
• Manage ad-hoc HSE projects, including planning activities, coordinating stakeholders, and tracking project progress

To succeed in this role, you bring

• At least five years of sailing experience as marine officer which may include sailing as a senior officer (preferably Captain or Chief Officer) on board a tanker vessel
• Shore-based experience as a Marine, Vetting, or HSE Superintendent is an advantage but not mandatory
• Knowledge of relevant ISM, ISO standards, and OCIMF requirements
• Written and spoken English skills
• Skilled at analyzing information, communicating clearly, and working effectively both on your own and as part of a team
