Job summary

Bavarian Nordic A/S is seeking an experienced Head of Center of Excellence (Project Management) to drive standards and build organizational capability across a global vaccine-focused organization. This role balances strategic leadership with hands-on project delivery across R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial functions.

You will design training, facilitate sessions, coach colleagues, and engage stakeholders to embed project management frameworks and tools.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading complex projects in pharma/biotech or regulated healthcare.
• Change management expertise with hands-on delivery experience.
• Interest in full scope of project management excellence, from strategic framework design to practical implementation.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills to engage audiences and make methods practical.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders in global, cross-functional environments.
• PMI-based project management practices; PMP certification is a plus.
• Experience with merger and acquisition projects.
• Master’s degree in life sciences, engineering, supply chain, business, or related field.
• Advanced Smartsheet expertise with knowledge of Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Own and strengthen project management standards, governance, tools, templates, and ways of working.
• Lead complex cross-functional strategic projects including M&A, product development, vaccine launches, and transformation.
• Drive adoption of project management methodologies and support organizational change through stakeholder engagement, training, and coaching.
• Develop project management capability through structured training, facilitation, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
• Serve as an ambassador for project excellence, translating methodology into engaging learning experiences.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to create alignment, transparency, and clear ownership.
• Drive disciplined planning, risk management, resource coordination, and execution using PM tools.
