Job summary

Global Fintech Talent is seeking an Experienced Head of Development to strengthen engineering leadership and accelerate AI-powered delivery. The role requires proven people leadership from hiring to exits, and a track record of delivering AI-enabled products in production.

Based in Copenhagen or willing to relocate, you will lead engineers, translate business priorities into execution, maintain system reliability, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive impactful AI initiatives.

Experienced people leader with a track record of building with AI

I’m hiring a Head of Development for a financial technology business looking to strengthen its engineering leadership and accelerate how it builds with AI.

Proven people leadership is essential.

You must have managed engineers through the full employee lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, coaching, career development, promotions, performance management, difficult conversations and exits.

You’ll have supported people at different career stages, developed technical leaders and built teams that deliver consistently. This role needs someone who can take responsibility for people and performance from day one.

Practical experience building with AI is equally important.

You should have helped take AI-powered products, features or workflows into production and be able to explain what you personally owned, how you made it work reliably and the impact it delivered.

What I’m looking for

• An established Head of Development, Head of Engineering or equivalent with experience leading multiple teams.
• Concrete examples of developing people, improving team performance and handling difficult management decisions.
• Strong technical credibility combined with a practical, commercially aware approach.
• Experience building and delivering AI solutions that are used in production.
• A direct, collaborative leadership style that earns trust and maintains high standards.

Fintech, payments or experience with other complex technology platforms is valuable. Specific payments experience is helpful, but proven leadership and AI delivery are the stronger priorities.

Copenhagen-based or willing to relocate is essential.

This role requires working with the team in person.
