We are looking for someone who is genuinely keen to learn, and to develop new skills with a technical mindset, willing to work onboard vessels, in all weathers, travelling to ports throughout the UK in order to build a long‑term career within the marine safety industry.

For over 20 years, our customers’ vessels have sailed confidently in the knowledge that they comply with all IMO regulations with every piece of equipment Star International has supplied or serviced.

Our davit technicians, will initially shadow experienced engineers across UK sites, learning how to service, repair, and maintain davits, hooks winches, lifting gear and lifeboats in line with ISO 23678, which is an internationally recognised standard that defines how technicians must be trained and certified to work on lifeboats, rescue boats, launching appliances, and release gear on ships.

Over three years you will be assessed at a specialist training centre in Denmark and through experience and knowledge will become a fully qualified technician.

We are looking to build the next generation of this very specialist and niche industry and the successful applicant will be considering this opportunity as a long‑term career path.
