Job summary

Cari is seeking a Sr. Director for Expression Engineering, Bioanalysis & ADME to lead two centres of excellence and set the strategic direction for molecular expression, PK and ADME to accelerate the path to first human dose.

You will partner with Research Centres of Excellence, CMC/GMS, Global Manufacturing & Supply and external collaborators to keep projects progressing with clarity, quality and speed, while mentoring ~80 colleagues.

Qualifications

• PhD in Life Sciences or related field.
• 10+ years in pharma/biotech research, including drug discovery and preclinical development.
• Proven experience leading senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Track record of delivering high-impact research and business results at senior level.
• Strong understanding of early drug research and wider drug development value chain.
• Collaborative leadership with external partners and internal stakeholders.
• Proven ability to influence executives and drive strategic initiatives.
• Experience applying AI/ML to optimise discovery and development.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic and operational direction for EEBA to ensure lead candidates reach FHD with strong expression, PK and ADME profiles.
• Oversee delivery in molecular expression, bioanalysis, PK and ADME for protein/peptide portfolios and cross-area projects.
• Own capacity planning and prioritise critical-path activities, aligning mitigations with stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Research, CMC/GMS and external partners to progress projects.
• Ensure regulatory/ethical standards and support the digital strategy with robust data management.
• Inspire and mentor department managers and teams, fostering talent and growth.
