Job description

Your impact begins here

As Global Advanced Analytics Lead, you will apply statistical modelling and machine learning to commercial questions that matter for Novo’s portfolio and launches. You will turn commercial and real‑world data into insights that help teams understand market and patient dynamics and assess commercial opportunities. The role combines hands‑on analytical work with direct business engagement. You will take ownership of analytical projects, from shaping the question and building the model to explaining what the findings mean for the decision ahead.

As Novo strengthens its core business and builds future growth opportunities, understanding changing patient needs, consumer behaviour and market dynamics is increasingly important. Your work will support Product & Portfolio Strategy in sharpening global strategies, strengthening portfolio competitiveness and preparing for successful launches.

What You’ll Bring

You bring hands‑on analytical skill and the judgement to turn it into decisions people can act on.

  • A master’s degree in data science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Business Administration or a related field, with strong quantitative and applied analytics expertise.

  • 5+ years in advanced analytics, applied data science or statistical modelling, including hands‑on delivery of analytical projects.

  • Strong practical capability in Python or R, and in SQL for data extraction and preparation.

  • Experience building and validating statistical and machine learning models, and assessing their performance, uncertainty and limitations.

  • Experience with complex datasets, reproducible code, version control and technical documentation.

  • The ability to translate findings into business recommendations and explain them clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Structured problem‑solving, openness about uncertainty and limitations, and sound judgement on when to seek guidance or escape.

Useful, But Not Essential

  • A PhD or a strong research background.

  • Pharmaceutical commercial analytics or healthcare real‑world data experience, particularly segmentation and launch uptake modelling.

What You’ll Do

You will own the hands‑on delivery of advanced analytics projects that inform portfolio and commercial decisions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Translate business questions into analytical approaches, working with stakeholders to clarify the decision, scope and intended outcomes.

  • Develop and refine predictive models, patient segmentation models and launch uptake analyses to understand commercial opportunities and changing market dynamics.

  • Investigate complex commercial and real‑world datasets, applying statistical and machine learning methods suited to the question.

  • Translate findings into clear recommendations, explaining their commercial implications and discussing them directly with stakeholders.

  • Build reliable, reproducible analyses, validating model performance and making assumptions, uncertainty and data limitations clear.

  • Collaborate with BI, Data Governance and enterprise technical partners to ensure analytical outputs can be maintained and used effectively.

  • Propose new analytical questions, share reusable code and contribute practical improvements to the team’s methods.

The role is base in Søborg, Denmark.

Who You’ll Work With

You will join the Data, Analytics & AI Strategy team within Product & Portfolio Strategy (PPS). PPS brings together commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across therapy areas to guide Novo’s portfolio and strengthen its competitiveness.

Your projects will connect you with colleagues across Portfolio Strategy, Insights & Access, Commercial Units, Global Medical Affairs and Business Development, depending on the business question. You will also collaborate with R&D, US and International Operations, Enterprise IT and technical partners.

You will work closely with the Advanced Analytics Associate Director on analytical design, methodological choices and interpretation of findings. You will own hands‑on delivery of your projects, with the Associate Director providing technical direction, challenge and review. This partnership combines independent analytical ownership with close technical collaboration.

What You Can Expect Here

You will work on technically challenging questions with clear commercial relevance, combining hands‑on modelling with direct collaboration across the global business. The role offers ownership of analytical delivery, close partnership with experienced colleagues and the opportunity to see your findings inform portfolio and launch decisions. You will also contribute ideas and reusable approaches that strengthen how the team applies advanced analytics. At Novo, you’ll join a global healthcare company with a unique culture and strong results. We offer continuous learning, career development, and benefits tailored to your life and career stage.
