Job summary

Devoteam Nordic is seeking a Nordic Looker Practice Lead to own our Looker capability and drive regional growth with Google Cloud data solutions.

Reporting directly to the Head of Data, you will lead LookML development, set technical standards, and guide data teams across the Nordics to deliver scalable analytics from warehouse to semantic layer.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise Looker solutions.
• Strong proficiency on Google Cloud, specifically BigQuery.
• End-to-end BI/analytics solution architecture experience including the warehouse, modelling layer, semantic layer, and consumption.
• Deep SQL knowledge with hands-on experience with transformation tools such as dbt.
• Leadership and advisory experience leading technical teams and stakeholder presentations.

Responsibilities

• Grow the practice: Lead and scale Looker engagements across the Nordics and spot new business opportunities.
• Own delivery quality: set standards for LookML, review work, and ensure deliverables meet client expectations.
• Strengthen the Google alliance: build trust-based relationships with Google's regional teams to position Devoteam as a preferred Looker partner.
• Mentor and lead: develop and upskill the data team with a focus on the modern data stack.
• Partner with sales: translate market trends into Looker features and capabilities to present to clients.

What you will do

• Grow the practice: Lead and scale our Looker engagements across the Nordics, spot new business opportunities, and advise clients on modern analytics.
• Own delivery quality: Act as the guardian of technical excellence — set the standard for LookML development, review the team's work, and ensure our deliverables exceed client expectations.
• Strengthen the Google alliance: Build deep, trust‑based relationships with Google's local and regional teams, positioning Devoteam as the preferred partner for selling, architecting, and delivering on Looker.
• Mentor and lead: Develop and upskill our data team, fostering a culture of continuous learning around the modern data stack.
• Partner with sales: Connect market trends with new Looker features and capabilities — including conversational analytics — to shape what we take to clients.

Qualifications

Who you are

You are a seasoned data professional who lives and breathes data modelling. You understand that Looker isn't just a visualisation tool — it's a semantic layer that transforms how a business works with data.

• Looker expertise: Several years of hands‑on experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise Looker solutions. You know LookML deeply, and caching policies, PDTs, and hub‑and‑spoke architectures are second nature.
• The modern data stack: Strong proficiency on Google Cloud, specifically BigQuery — query optimisation and partitioning come naturally.
• Solution architecture: You design BI and analytics solutions end to end — from the warehouse and modelling layer, through the semantic layer, to consumption. You make deliberate trade‑offs about where logic lives (dbt vs LookML and PDTs), how it governs, and how it scales across teams and environments.
• Data modelling and engineering: Deep SQL knowledge and hands‑on experience with transformation tools such as dbt.
• Leadership and advisory: A track record of leading technical teams and the confidence to command the room in stakeholder presentations.
