Job description

Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant Full Professorship at the Department of Marketing. Core research areas of the Department of Marketing include Branding, B2B Marketing/Sales, Consumer Behavior, Digital Marketing, and Tourism & Hospitality Management. The Full Professor’s research must have a clear relevance to one or more of the Department’s core research areas.

Expected starting date is during 2027 (preferably no later than 1 September).

The Department is a highly regarded provider of research-based marketing education in Europe, and we consistently rank among Europe's top 5 business schools based on the number of high-quality research publications in leading marketing journals. With more than 45 faculty members representing a variety of backgrounds, research interests and methodological approaches, the department offers a combination of broad and deep expertise with which we co-create and deliver value for sustainable business growth. In addition, the department engages around 60 part-time lecturers with solid, practice-oriented experience. Our teaching responsibilities comprise undergraduate, graduate, and executive teaching in general marketing and across the core research areas of the Department. Teaching is delivered in both Danish and English.

Responsibilities
  • Individual and group-based research meeting high international standards
  • Take responsibility for the academic development of their discipline and research environment
  • High-quality teaching, associated examination and educational development
  • Initiating and applying for external funding
  • Contributing to the administrative responsibilities of the department and to CBS-wide tasks
  • External engagement, including generating and communicating societal impact to the public in general and to CBS’s stakeholders in particular
  • Active participation in department life, including engaging in research, supervision of early career researchers and PhD students and other academic activities, and contributing to acollaborative and supportive collegial environment
  • Promoting CBS's academic reputation
  • Dynamic leadership in the development of research and teaching, in initiating and securing external research funding, in maintaining and establishing broad links across CBS and inestablishing strong ties with industry
Qualifications

Candidates must document a high degree of relevant, original and up-to-date scientific publications at an international level within one of the core research areas covered by the department. Importance is put on the candidate’s ability to undertake research management and other relevant management functions. The candidate should be able to document pedagogical qualifications, good teaching evaluations, and the ability to innovate within the educational field. Candidates must also document their contribution to the development of their academic field in research and teaching, as well as their ability to undertake academic leadership responsibilities. CBS emphasizes the candidate’s ability to establish productive contacts with the business community and other stakeholders to provide impact. The applicant must have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). The Department has teaching commitments in both English- and Danish-language programmes and welcomes applicants who can contribute to teaching in Danish; however, proficiency in Danish is not a requirement for the position.

Recruitment procedure

A minimum of two applicants will be shortlisted after the application deadline and hereafter all applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process. The shortlisted applicants selected for assessment will be notified about the composition of the Assessment Committee and later in the process about the result of the assessment. A selection of the qualified applicants will be invited for interviews. Once the recruitment process is completed each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application.
