Job description

Would you like to work hands-on with FPGA development and be part of building a new technical solution? As our new FPGA Developer, you will take an active role in developing, implementing and verifying FPGA functionality

We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. Therefore, we are looking for a FPGA Developer to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.

Your role in our team

As our new FPGA Developer, you will help build a GNSS-based solution on an SDR platform together with the platform architect and embedded software developers. You will take an active part in turning signal-processing algorithms into efficient FPGA implementations and ensuring that they work reliably as part of the overall platform.

In this role, you will be involved throughout the development process, from implementation and verification to integration with the surrounding system. The work combines hands-on FPGA development with close collaboration across disciplines and gives you a central role in bringing GNSS functionality from concept to working solution.

You will become part of a team of 10 colleagues and two student workers, bringing together different technical disciplines and areas of expertise. The team works closely together in the day-to-day development, with an informal and collaborative way of working.

How you will make a meaningful contribution

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and verify FPGA functionality, including testbench development
  • Implement signal-processing algorithms in FPGA
  • Design and manage asynchronous clock-domain crossings
  • Apply metastability mitigation techniques and analysis methods
  • Use pipelining, DSP resources and embedded memory in FPGA implementations
  • Collaborate closely with the platform architect and embedded software developers on the GNSS-based SDR solution
Bring your world class expertise into play

You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:

  • You have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, combined with at least 5 years of hands‑on experience in FPGA development
  • Proven ability to handle asynchronous clock-domain crossings in complex designs
  • Familiarity with metastability mitigation and the corresponding analysis methods
  • Practical use of pipelining, DSP resources and embedded memory
  • Solid understanding of complex arithmetic, frequency-domain analysis and digital signal processing

As a person, you are professional and take responsibility for your work and decisions. You approach your tasks with a strong sense of ownership and take pride in delivering work of high quality. You have a strong drive to move tasks forward and are motivated by seeing projects progress from concept to completion. You work in a structured and organized manner and can prioritize tasks effectively, even when dealing with complex assignments or multiple requirements. At the same time, you maintain attention to detail and a focus on reliability and quality in everything you do.

We arean international company representing world‑class expertise, delivering complex and high‑tech products. We value our colleagues and our meaningful contributions to securing people through advanced technology. You will also experience that we have a strong focus on your development, teaching you useful new competences and further strengthening current ones, both professionally and personally. Our company culture is autonomous and engaging, and we acknowledge the importance of flexibility in a great working environment.

When joining Terma, we promise that you will experience: Great people, challenging tasks, world‑class expertise, and meaningful contribution in your daily work.
