Job summary

Zure Denmark is building a Data & AI practice and seeks a Senior Data & AI Engineer to shape it from the ground up. You will own the architecture across Azure Fabric, Databricks, lakehouse patterns, and AI tooling, guiding engagements with Danish clients on Azure.

You will mentor colleagues, define reference architectures, collaborate with teams across the UK, Finland, and the Netherlands, and participate in pre-sales. Fluent English is required; Danish is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering, with at least 3 on Azure and real production systems.
• Depth in the Azure data stack: Fabric and/or Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse or SQL, and lakehouse patterns.
• Strong Python and SQL, plus Spark for large datasets.
• Experience with AI on Azure: Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, RAG patterns.
• Engineering discipline: Git, CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Bicep or Terraform), testing and data governance.
• Ability to set client expectations and fix data foundations.
• Comfort being the most senior data person in the room and openness to learn.
• Fluent English; Danish is a strong advantage for Danish clients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and design data platforms and AI solutions on Azure for Danish clients.
• Lead hard engagements with weak data foundations and ambitious AI goals.
• Shape the Danish practice: set reference architectures, accelerators and standards.
• Collaborate with UK and Nordic colleagues and engage with clients in discovery and pre-sales.
• Mentor colleagues, share learnings, and contribute to community work.
