Job summary

BenBau Group in Copenhagen seeks a Finance & Accounting Specialist to support financial operations across data centre projects. You will help with financial control, performance tracking, and cash flow management while ensuring compliance with German GAAP and local regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting, 3–5 years’ experience, and strong Excel/ERP skills. You’ll work with project managers and external auditors in a multinational setting across Europe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in construction or infrastructure.
• Experience with project accounting and cost control is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with DATEV, MS Dynamics BC or similar ERP systems.
• Strong MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger and project cost allocations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, including invoices.
• Track project budgets, costs, variances, and workflows.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support cash flow monitoring.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for projects.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisers, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure proper documentation for audits and reporting.

Role Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of our data centre construction projects. This role will play a key part in financial control, project performance tracking, and cash flow management across multiple construction projects, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and group reporting requirements, as well as supporting the ongoing improvement of financial processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records, including general ledger and project-related cost allocations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including contractor and supplier invoices
• Track and monitor project budgets, costs, and variances, while supporting the improvement of financial processes, including accounting-related workflows and their digitalization and automation
• Perform bank reconciliations and support cash flow monitoring
• Support working capital optimization, including receivables follow-up and billing accuracy
• Ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB), tax regulations, and construction-related financial requirements
• Support VAT reconciliations and other statutory reporting obligations
• Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for ongoing and upcoming projects
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure proper documentation for audits and project reporting
• Identify and implement improvements in financial and cost-control processes

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
• Experience with project accounting and cost control is highly desirable
• Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., DATEV, MS Dynamics BC or similar)
• Strong MS Excel skills (including data analysis and reporting)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-driven environment
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale construction or data center projects
• Familiarity with IFRS or international reporting standards
• Experience working in a multinational project environment
