Job description

Do you want to play a key role in a dynamic and engaging workplace, providing excellent learning opportunities within the global market leader of container logistics?

We Offer

At Maersk, our vision is to be the Global Integrator of Container Logistics, connecting and simplifying our customers’ supply chains. A critical enabler of this ambition is operating the industry’s most reliable, efficient and cost-competitive ocean network.

As part of the Ocean Cost and Trades Finance team, you will join a diverse, high-performing and internationally minded finance community at the heart of Ocean’s transformation and cost optimization agenda. In this role, you will partner closely with the Head of Network Capacity, Network Planning, Capacity Management, Operations and Trade teams to drive flow optimization and improve Hub and Transshipment (T/S) performance across the global network.

You will play a key role in identifying risks and opportunities, supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven insights, forecasting, performance management, trade allocation and deep-dive analyses. Acting as a trusted finance partner, you will help improve transparency, drive accountability and support initiatives that optimize both network performance and cost efficiency.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of Maersk’s Ocean business, influencing decisions that have a direct and measurable impact on the performance of our global network and the financial results of the company.

You will thrive in a professionally stimulating and culturally diverse environment, collaborating with highly skilled colleagues at our headquarters and across our global finance and business communities. The role offers significant exposure, learning opportunities and the chance to influence some of the most important decisions shaping the future of Maersk’s Ocean network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Partnering: Act as the Finance Business Partner for Hub & T/S and Network Flow activities, providing financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
  • Performance management and Reporting: Drive effective performance management of Hub and T/S costs, including target setting, KPI monitoring, variance analysis, and follow‑up actions to close performance gaps. Own the financial storyline for MPM, QPR and Network Cost Memos, ensuring clear and actionable insights for management. Support the Head of Network Cost Finance with ad hoc analyses, executive presentations, and business reviews.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Own and continuously improve forecasting accuracy for transshipment moves and related network costs. Support base case development, scenario modelling, and flow analyses to provide better decision support for network and capacity planning.
  • Collaboration and continues improvement: Maintain strong connection with wider Ocean Finance community. Lead without authority and prioritize efforts to standardize processes, ongoing improvements that enhance efficiency and data integrity across Ocean Network Product.

Key competencies are:

  • Advanced financial acumen and P&L expertise. Deep understanding of financial principles, including P&L management, cost structures and performance drivers.
  • Proven analytical and agile mindset. Ability to interpret complex data and critical details into actionable recommendations while maintaining a strategic perspective.
